IRTEC Accreditation
Scheme
The Inspection Technician accreditation includes one practical module (Vehicle Inspection) and an online knowledge test. To pass this level, candidates must demonstrate their ability to inspect vehicles and identify defects, with assessments aligned to the DVSA HGV/PSV Inspection manuals. This is the most commonly pursued level.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the IRTEC accreditation, technicians must have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience, or
Level 3 qualification along with 12 months of industry experience.
IRTEC Accreditation Categories
Technicians can obtain IRTEC accreditation, which is valid for five years. This certification confirms their skills and competence in vehicle maintenance and inspection. To earn it, technicians must pass both practical and theory assessments. After five years, they will need to renew their accreditation to stay up to date with industry standards.
Course Duration
The course duration may vary depending on whether you choose to complete it over, one, two, or three days.
Course Cost
One day course: Cost per candidate £590 + VAT.
Two day course: Cost per candidate £950 + VAT.
Three day course: Cost per candidate £1400 + VAT.
