Audit Overview
The Maintenance Provision Rating Scheme (MPRS) is an independent industry recognition scheme designed to assess and improve standards across commercial vehicle workshops and maintenance facilities throughout the UK.
Created by the industry, for the industry, MPRS has the support of leading industry bodies, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and the Office of the Traffic Commissioner. The scheme is suitable for workshops and commercial vehicle maintenance facilities of all sizes, providing a consistent and recognised way to assess the quality, competence and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
Improving Commercial Vehicle Maintenace Standards
MPRS provides a comprehensive assessment of a workshop’s facilities, workforce competency, maintenance procedures and compliance standards. Ratings are based on detailed audits and collective evidence, providing operators with an independent view of the standard of their maintenance provision.
The scheme aims to raise standards across the UK commercial vehicle maintenance sector by identifying areas of good practice as well as non-compliant, unsafe or ineffective maintenance practices that could compromise vehicle safety, compliance and operational standards.
What Does An MPRS Rating Mean?
An MPRS rating provides an indication of the competence and quality of a commercial vehicle workshop or maintenance facility.
