COURSE INFORMATION
Course Overview
This industry-recognised licence demonstrates technical excellence and inspection competence. To achieve an advanced irtec licence, a technician must successfully complete both the theory (Under Pinning Knowledge) test and five practical assessments including Engine Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Braking Systems, Chassis Systems and Electrical Systems to pass this level.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the IRTEC accreditation, technicians must have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience, or
Level 3 qualification along with 12 months of industry experience
Or have already completed the IRTEC accreditation.
Accreditation
Technicians can obtain IRTEC advanced accreditation, which is valid for five years. This certification confirms their skills and competence in vehicle maintenance and inspection. To earn it, technicians must pass both practical and theory assessments. After five years, they will need to renew their accreditation to stay up to date with industry standards.
